Cassidy mccan, M.s.

Clinical Mental Health Counselor

Pre-Licensed Professional
(she/her/hers)

Welcome! I am Cassidy, and I am a therapist who focuses on supporting children who are 3-10 years old and their families while they are navigating different challenges including self-esteem, behavioral and mental health concerns, social skills development, snd emotional dysregulation.

In my sessions I am using play therapy interventions which are evidence-based and
developmentally appropriate, that works to assist children by encouraging them to
process events and to build coping tools with their natural language of play. I think that children offer a unique perspective on the world and have an inner wonder. I firmly believe that with the right tools, they can blossom and thrive.

In addition, I believe that positioning children for success includes supporting their caregivers. I assist caregivers in developing more connected relationships with their children. I want to help assist caregivers though the therapy process and help them find tools that they can implement at home.

My goal is to assist in building a safe space where both child and caregiver feel seen
and heard. Parenting can be overwhelming, and I want to offer support and assist your family in increasing your joy, harmony and connection.

Outside the office I enjoy knitting and all types of arts and crafts. I also enjoy
experimenting with new recipes, hiking, and reading fantasy books.

I am currently working towards full licensure in the state of Georgia, and I am under the supervision of Kari Barrett, MA LPC CPCS RPT/S. If you have questions about my licensure process, please feel free to contact me.

Cassidy is currently available in the office Monday- Thursday from 11am- 5pm.

Session Investments

Cassidy provides a free one-hour intake for the parent (no child present) to ensure we are a good fit. She is not in-network with insurance companies but accepts PPO insurance as an out-of-network provider. That means you pay your therapist directly after each session, and then she provides you with a receipt for services (called a superbill) that you can submit to your insurance at the end of every month. If your claim is accepted, your insurance will mail you a check for the amount they agree to reimburse or apply that amount to your deductible, depending on whether you have yet hit your deductible for the year. She values the privacy of our clients and has chosen not to participate in insurance panels. In doing this, she is not required to provide diagnostic codes that could affect children’s future opportunities.

*We have partnered with Mentaya to help clients use their out-of-network benefits to save money on therapy. Please reach out for more information!
