Trenton Ramsted, m.ed., APC

Trauma, Men’s Mental Health, & Cultural Specialist for Military & Veterans

You are used to carrying the weight. Whether you are active-duty military, a veteran, a first responder, or a man managing intense pressure, you have been trained to compartmentalize your stress, lean into the grind, and execute the mission at all costs. But behind closed doors, that armor can start to feel like a cage. It shows up as a short fuse, explosive irritability, an emotional numbness that distances you from your family, or a relentless hyper-vigilance that won't let you switch off.

You don't want a soft, traditional therapy experience where you sit on a couch and unpack your childhood for months. And you certainly don't want to speak to someone who flinches at the raw, unfiltered reality of your experiences.

I provide a direct, collaborative, and highly purposeful clinical partnership. As a U.S. Army Veteran with 12 years of service, I don't just study military culture—I lived it. I understand the unique psychological architecture of high-stakes environments, the weight of transition, and the steep cost of carrying an invisible rucksack of stress. I speak your language, I respect your armor, and I know exactly how to help you safely decode it so you can protect what matters most: your life, your marriage, and your sanity.

Tactical Psychology: Building Mental Resilience and Values-Driven Action

My clinical approach is active, practical, and heavily grounded in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). We won’t waste time trying to force your difficult thoughts or past memories to magically disappear. Instead, we treat mental resilience like a tactical skill.

Using evidence-based frameworks (including ACT, CBT, and DBT techniques), we will work together to:

  • Build Psychological Flexibility: Learning how to tolerate intense distress and quiet the internal noise so you can make intentional choices instead of survival-driven reactions.

  • Clarify Personal Values: Re-anchoring your internal compass so you can define who you are outside of your uniform, rank, or career.

  • Execute Meaningful Action: Reclaiming command over your anxiety, depression, or substance use, and moving forward at your own pace toward a life that feels genuinely worth living.

The mission has changed. It’s time to stop just surviving the fallout and start commanding your future.

Meet Trenton

While our work targets heavy, high-stakes behavioral and cultural challenges, it is delivered with absolute confidentiality, mutual respect, and a necessary dose of dark humor. I build a secure perimeter where you can put down the weight without judgment.

Outside of my work as a counselor, I value spending high-quality time with my wife and daughters. To recharge my own battery, I enjoy playing board games and role-playing games, and I find a strong creative outlet in painting.

  • Clinical Specialties: Military, Veteran, & First Responder Transition; Men's Stress & Anger Optimization; Trauma, Anxiety, & Substance Use Recovery.

  • Advanced Frameworks: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Skill-Building & Emotional Regulation (CBT/DBT).
